Hey guys, I'm rebooting the retreat dates thread since I'm not sure if y'all would catch me making a comment on the "official thread."
Polebenders is booked the weekend of June 12-13 but we're looking at one of the last two weekends in July to see if those would work. So we have a choice - reschedule for July or try going somewhere else (Rockport? Dad's ranch? Austin?) in June.
So let's take a poll - vote on your preferred option:
Option One: June 12-13, destination TBD
Option Two: July 17-19, Polebenders in Seadrift
Option Three: July 24-26, Polebenders in Seadrift

VICTORY!
Also, now that I have recovered from my DC reunion (with all my girls from Chapelwood that I've known since birth, mostly), I decided to tell you what I did. Yes, I hugged a pink polka dotted cow. I also slapped the ace of a harlequin horse. Apparently Virginia is big on brightly colored animals.
After surviving our vineyard tour, I went to a Nerd Party at the Convent at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda Maryland. Unfortunately, there were no nuns. Granted, if there were, I would have been drunkenly stalking them due to my crazy fascination with the habit-ed ones. Blame it on my latent Catholic side. Thanks Grammer Koch. We totally had an around the world themed party where I sampled libations from Cuba, Tanzania, Mexico, Candyland, and Hell (incidentally, do not partake in the drinks from Hell. Surprisingly not good).
We then went to the Earth Day festival on the Mall where I got to see Chevy Chase BOMB. It was kind of amazing. There was also a woman who felt the need that whenever she said the word, "President," to follow it with a long pause and then shout, "BARACK OBAMA!" Apparently she didn't know that you don't need to shout into a mike because it is designed to amplify your voice nor that following the term "President" with "Barack Obama" is superfluous as most of us know who you mean when you say "President." Granted this was the Earth D

I also dined with my friend Amanda Burdick, who apparently worked in the White House with Molly and was supposed to go to the wedding, but was too busy getting engaged in Hawaii. Small world.
Hope y'all are having a great week!

Paging Amy Koch...
Monday
Hey everyone!! I hope everyone's monday is going wonderful and I hope that everyone had a good weekend! My weekend was pretty chill for the most part. Friday I picked Jordan up from the airport and we went to chimy's with a bunch of people and saturday I went and played putt putt. It was really fun! Im really excited bc this week I don't have class until Thursday but everything that I have done for the semester is due then. After Thursday I am finished with senior year!! yay!!
You Gotta Post...

Ok people, in order for this to work you are going to have to post some stuff and start sharing your life... I had a boring weekend, highlight was a Rangers game ( they lost ) and a talk at church on Intelligent Design. I learned a great deal about bacterial flagellum ( really interesting ). Bottom line from the discussion, there is an Intelligent Designer of the universe. Not too exciting because I already knew that Jesus and his Dad had something to do the whole Creation thing. So...I am wondering why you people are not eating more cake, let's pick up the pace.

Happy Friday!
Hey family,
Very excited about the new blog! Right now it looks like it's nighttime outside my office because the weather is so bad. Love it! I'm going to be lame and stay in tonight since it's so gross out. Movies + popcorn sounds good to me.
What else is everyone up to this weekend? Steve, I'm going to see your mom tomorrow! She's in Houston for the weekend. My mom is going to lunch with her tomorrow and I'm going to stop by and say hi beforehand.
Hope y'all have a fun weekend! Here's a semi-recent picture of my awesome dog Bridget

Steve can now post!
Steve Owen Jr.'s blogging post:Sara has invited me to post, hopefully we will all soon be able to log in and begin sharing...I am still trying to figure out all this technology but feel like we are making progress. I am testing picture and video updates. Let me know if this works. We still need to recruit all the necessary members to the blog. I am loving this idea. It is really fun stuff. I love this picture with all of us, cute little Jordan :-)
Here is an attempt to upload a video of the twins for all of you who were not able to attend their 2nd birthday party celebration. Little Gym was big fun!
This is really a fun concept! Can't believe I haven't been a "blogger" until now?
